4 year old newsletter 3/25/2011

Dear Parents,

We had to say good bye to Purim way too early! But guess what!! Pesach is right around the corner!

This week, we learned how the Jewish people got into Egypt. We learned how Joseph had a colorful coat and that his brothers got so jealous of him that they sent him to a jail in Egypt. In jail he interpreted dreams for people. We discussed what we would do if our siblings or classmates got something and not us. We were able to understand the actions of Joseph’s brothers! Please ask your children how Joseph got out of jail and became second to the king!! (Joseph got famous for explaining dreams and got out of jail to tell King Pharaoh all about his dreams. He explained the dreams as a good time was coming when there would be so much food people wouldn’t know what to do with it but then a bad time would come after when there would be no more food in stores. Joseph became second to the king in charge of gathering all the food during the good years, thinking of the bad years to come. Ask your children how Joseph recognized his brother coming to buy food from him and they didn’t.

In preparation for Pesach, we also learned that we eat Matzah on the 8 days of the holiday. We marble painted and cut circles for pretend matzah that we will use in our Haggadah.

In our handwriting program, we learned our letter A. Our friends are familiar with letter A already since we have our friends Abbey Almorg and Avital that start with it.

Have a good Shabbos
